The Wild Pea of Umbria, also known as Roveja, is an ancient pea that was cultivated and harvested as far back as the Neolithic age in the Sibillini mountains of Umbria, Italy. The small multicolored seed was used to make a type of porridge and also ground into flour. The high protein peas are great as a soup pea as well.  Vining plants need support or a trellis and are very tolerant of a wide range of conditions!
