A wonderful purple skinned carrot with a yellow orange interior. A more recent selection, but a very good carrot nevertheless. Purple and yellow carrots are believed to have originated in Afghanistan; while the white carrot is native to Europe. The older varieties of purple carrots, such as the Violette de Syrie, turn a brown color when cooked. The Purple Dragon does not turn this color because only its skin is purple. A nice tasting carrot that is mildly sweet and slightly spicy. Great for salads. Your kids will love it!
