A traditional ceremonial tobacco used by indigenous tribes like the Mandan in short season areas. This particular variety was collected by Lewis and Clark and given to Thomas Jefferson who described it as “a singular species, uncommonly weak and probably suitable for segars”. Drought tolerant and easy to grow.
