First Introduced as Ruby Gold Tomato by John Lewis Childs of Floral Park, NY in 1921. It was later renamed Gold Medal by Ben Quisenberry and offered in his catalog. The John Lewis Childs catalog states "This is without a doubt the most beautiful tomato grown and will attract attention anywhere for its great size and wonderful color." This is an excellent bicolor tomato with yellow flesh splashed with rose red towards the bottom. The flesh is sweet and mild with very little acid. The fruit average 1 lb and up. Beautiful when sliced! Indeterminate. (80-85 days to maturity)
