This carrot originates from the town of Hoorn in the Netherlands. Horenshce Wortelen (carrots of Hoorn) were common on the Amsterdam market in 1610. The earliest English seedsmen listed Early Horn and Long Orange. The stout carrots are 5-6 inches long and are good for heavy soils.
