(aka Symmes Blue Hubbard, New England Blue Hubbard) Introduced in 1909 by the James J. H Gregory Seed Company. It was originally introduced under the name Symms Blue Hubbard, after S. S. Symmes, who was a gardener from Cliftondale, Massachusetts who worked for the James J. H Gregory Seed Company for a number of years. The bluish green hubbard shaped fruit can grow 10-15 lbs and the golden yellow dry flesh is delicious baked or in soup. Good storage variety. (100 days to maturity)
