In the early 1920’s Art Combe was said to have found a pouch of red watermelon seeds in a cave in Arizona. He planted them, a few germinated and he selected seed for the largest, roundish, sweetest ones for decades. The large oblong watermelons have sweet red flesh and can grow up to 20 pounds in size. The red seeds also make this watermelon a very unique variety. (95-100 days to maturity)
